The place that I have chosen for
my blend of coffee to come from is Venice, Italy. I chose this place because when I walk into
Starbucks, and look at their menu, many of the drinks actually originated from
Italy itself. Even though coffee beans did not originate from Italy, many signature drinks and café’s are began there. Venice
is a place of enjoyment, relaxation, romance and happiness. I want people who
hold the cup or see the poster to feel this way, almost as if these new blend
of coffee drinks will bring you all of these feelings.
By using water-colour to render this, it creates kind of a dreamy feeling. Another reason I chose the canals is because I wanted the audience to be drawn into the picture deeply. The canals work in a diagonal way in which leads your eyes into the image. The “Venice” work is rendered as if it was painted on top of the whole picture creating that polished feel of a poster. To finish off this look I scanned it into the computer and added and refined some of the lines in the image and added the Starbucks logo. Printing it on “Super glossy” paper adds light to the composition and helps portray a bright and happy mood.
